Software Defined Radio in Satelitte Applications - Software Defined Radio in Satellite Applications

Software Defined Radio in Satellite Applications

About the seminar:

Software Defined Radio (SDR) is very attractive to satellite communication. SDR reduces the demands for physical space on-board a satellite and in the portable terminals as it enables support for multiple communication systems across multiple frequency using only one RF module.

SDR supports easier upgrades and provides higher flexibility in the communication with multiple communications systems that becomes accessible via the global coverage provided by the satellite. Still, it is necessary to focus on the power constrains, the challenging communication path and the limited bit rate.

At this event, we will get a better understanding of the state of the art within SDR in satellite to terrestrial communication with regards to technology and business perspective.

Furthermore, we will hear about the on-going research and the expectation to future satellite launches where SDR will be part of it.

The event is co-organised with Center for Software Defined Radio (www.csdr.dk)
