Whether you are an established defence supplier, a startup, a technology SME or a public authority, DTI is a partner that understands both industrial reality and operational needs.
Working with us, you benefit from independent, application-oriented expertise, access to advanced test and demonstration facilities, and strong links to Danish and European defence innovation networks:
We serve as your dedicated RTO partner for offset obligations in Denmark, actively engaged in strategic industry collaborations across our areas of expertise:
DTI stands as the leading RTO in Denmark within the European Defence Fund (EDF), securing the highest number of projects, including 3 EDF-projects as project coordinator.

We participate in national performance contracts focused on defence-relevant technologies. We are also part of:

Through these initiatives we help companies find partners, funding and routes into national and international value chains.
Defence Tech Denmark is a national growth program for startups and SMEs with technologies for – or originating from – the defence industry. The program gives your company access to networks, specialized knowledge, and resources that can help you enter this complex and regulated market.
Each year, 10–14 startups and 10–14 SMEs are admitted. The goal is to mature your technology, break down barriers, and create growth in a sector where currently only around 45 core Danish companies are active.
The program is founded by the Danish Industry Foundation, Innovation Fund Denmark, and EIFO, with a total allocation of DKK 200 million to ensure that more Danish companies not only engage in the sector – but also succeed in it. The aim is to strengthen Denmark’s security of supply, create new jobs, and build bridges between technology development and operational needs. DTU Science Park and Danish Technological Institute run the program together.

New operational needs, supply-chain vulnerabilities and environmental pressures constantly reshape what defence and security actors must be able to do. Unmanned systems, energy-optimized platforms, and smart materials are just some of the areas advancing quickly. In this situation, it is not enough to follow technological trends.
Organisations must understand which technologies actually add value in their context, ensure that solutions are robust in harsh environments, be ready to integrate civilian innovations into defence-grade systems.
Our role is to bridge these gaps – between lab and field, between civil and defence, and between individual components and complete solutions
– instead of testing, building, and producing in-house
– through rapid prototyping and structured validation
– by using independent experts and accredited test facilities
– including funding, dual-use, export control and demanding operational conditions
DTI helps you develop, mature and implement technologies that can be trusted in demanding use. We analyse technical feasibility and risks, design and build prototypes and demonstrators, test performance, durability and safety in specialised facilities. We also advise on scaling, industrialisation and regulatory issues, including dual-use classification.
