“They [the International Energy Association] project that by 2050, our global stock of air conditioners will triple by 2.6 billion units. So, to put that in another way, that's basically 10 new air conditioners being sold every single second for the next 30 years.” 

Menno van der Hoff, TripleAqua | Future Necessity of NatRefs in HVAC: 

"The largest source of CO2 emissions worldwide is around us. Buildings. Heating, ventilation, cooling. More than any other factor, buildings is number one. So, to solve the CO2 problem, we should start with the low hanging fruit; buildings."

“Comparing R290 and R407C, we notice the R290 refrigerant is higher on the cooling capacity [in rooftop units] by 2-4 %, and by 4-9.5% on the energy efficiency ratio, along ambient variations.” 

Neal Lawrence, Creative Thermal Solutions (CTS) | Successful Conversion of Railway Air-Conditioning Unit to Transcritial R744 Technology: 

“Very significant improvements in capacity (14 %) and unit COP (16 %) show great potential for R744 unit to replace HFC units in railway air conditioning.”
